Nursing trained me to think like a systems analyst - it’s basically just debugging humans when you think about it. I performed holistic assessments of a system with several complex, interconnected components (the human body) all day long. My aims were to identify deviations from expected baselines, investigate and analyze any that were found, triage care (literally the act of sorting and prioritizing issues based on severity and urgency), thoroughly document my findings, and provide clear, complete reporting of anomalies to doctors and care team members as needed.


I had to be detail-oriented, analytical, and always alert to subtle inconsistencies. Quality assurance demands that same mindset - methodical, observant, and committed to catching problems before they grow. Genuine, ongoing empathy and a cool head were essential to care not only for my patients, but for a diverse staff of team members varying in role, status, and personality.

In QA, perception is everything. As a choir singer and company dancer I’ve honed a keen ear, a sharp eye, and sustained focus. Whether catching the slightest lag or tracking movement down to the pixel, my sensitivity to sound and motion translate perfectly to audiovisual QA. 

Repetition is my happy place. It sometimes takes repeating a phrase or routine hundreds of times with care, patience, and attention to detail before a piece is stage-ready. Need me to play that level 100 times? No problem.

An Agile team emphasizes clear, detailed planning toward a collective vision, and success of the whole depends on every role. A performance is no different - success depends on every single player to know the plan and execute their part.

Cosplay demands ingenuity. Not just to create, not just to adapt, but to adapt creatively. Materials warp, tools break, templates mislead, and still the final product needs to shine. In the face of [controlled] chaos I’ve learned to iterate rapidly, refining my work through trial, error, and adjustment until the result matches the vision.

You can't let setbacks dull your resolve. Precision matters even when you're tired, so when you can't keep working harder - work smarter. That's what sets the elite apart from the ordinary: a mind that remains inventive, persistent, and exacting, even when the path forward isn't clear.
